We had a busy July weekend -- crammed as much fun in as we could! We left Thursday morning with camper in tow to Larabee State Park to meet up with Mom, Dad, Jacklyn, Marisa, the girls and her folks for some good ol' crabbing fun! All the kids loved being out on the boat. We didn't dare take Simon "Goose Egg" Sobotta out on the water. That is asking for a disaster! We played around in tide pools playing with hermit crabs and spotting starfish in the morning and then placed the pots. By nightfall, we were eating like kings and queens! I'm pretty sure there's not a better meal in the world than fresh crab. We had a great time with family and friends; so happy to have the Anderson crew with us. Can't wait until next year to do it again.

On Saturday afternoon Eric and I ran in the Bivalve Bash. We have done this once before and had a blast. You trudge though the ocean mud at low tide sinking up to about your knees. The mud makes it super tough but the stink of the stagnant ocean floor keeps you moving to the end just to get out and get rinsed off! At the end, you earn a gold plated oyster shell medal which makes it more than worthwhile.
The park was full on Saturday so we stayed with Eric's aunt and kids in Stanwood. It was great catching up as it had been since I was pregnant with Simon since we had seen them last. Uncle Dave flew in on his plane on Sunday morning and Mav got to play pilot which he loved.

We left the house Sunday morning and drove to North Bend (mom meeting us there to watch the monsters) to compete in the "Warrior Dash: the craziest fricken' day of your life." It was a blast: a big mud run with obstacles. Does it get any better?! It was 3.5 miles, 8 obstacles, 23,000 crazy people covered in mud, beer, and extremely large slabs of meat. The pictures show it all. So . . . much . . . fun!!!
And Sunday night we traveled back home reminiscing (sleeping). . . . except for Eric who took one for the team and drove the whole way.
We are blessed to have such a fantastic family and friends that make these memories possible! Whew! I'm tired just writing all this.
