I can hardly believe Simon is ONE! This year flew by -- probably because he keeps us moving a high speeds. He is our joyful little terror. Always smiling, yet stubborn as all get out and absolutely no fear. He was running at ten months and has not let up since. We had a birthday party planned on his true birthday but he came down with ROTA virus the week before and was miserable - very lethargic and clingy. So we postponed it for the next weekend. Grams and PopPop came down to give Eric and I a break and we did manage to get some birthday ice cream in.
We had a family birthday party for him the next weekend and had a great time! We are so blessed by Simon - how his eyes and whole face light up with every smile, how he climbs up on any and everything, how he gets up so quickly after falling and tries it again - no fear, how he sticks his chin out when trying to talk, how he "sings" along with his big brother to Veggie Tale worship, how he makes his fish face and dino growl, how he speed reads through all his books, how he snuggles with us when it's time for bed, how he wrestles with his Maveric, how he tries to attack Daddy, how he loves to splash in the bath, and his love for people! We love you Simon!
